China Camp State Park

China Camp State Park protects roughly 1,500 acres of wetlands, mixed oak and bay forest, redwoods, meadows, and beaches, all overlooking San Pablo Bay. Some 15 miles of well-maintained, multi-use trails are open to hikers, mountain bikers, horseback riders, and runners (trail fee $3). Back Ranch Campground has beautiful, shady tent-only campsites open year-round. The park also protects a Chinese shrimp fishing village dating to the 1850s, with historic buildings, a cafe, and a museum. The park receives no state funds, and is run primarily by volunteers from Friends of China Camp.
