Wild Sumatra

Since 2010, Wild Sumatra has been helping responsible travelers discover the most remote wild places left on the rainforest-shrouded island of Sumatra. We work with rural communities to empower local guides, helping connect them with off-the-beaten path adventurers looking for authentic, small-group Sumatra jungle trekking and cultural experiences in the rainforests of Indonesia's Kerinci Seblat National Park and surrounding villages. As a social enterprise, we are committed to keeping funds spent within the Kerinci region.
We believe strongly that community-based ecotourism can help safeguard the still-untouched forests and wildlife of Sumatra, while improving the quality of life for people living on the forest's edge.
